Laura Legg, of Holland, passed away, on June 2, 2012, of complications from an automobile accident June 13, 2011. There will be a private family memorial service in Coldwater MI. Laura was born April 2, 1923, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Walter and Helen Nichols. She graduated from Redford High School of Detroit MI and attended Michigan State University. In 1945, she married the love of her life, Roland Legg and lived in Rosedale Park of Detroit, MI, until 1980 when they moved to their summer home on Coldwater Lake. In her retirement years she spent her winters at Outdoor Resorts of Orlando FL. Laura moved to Holland in 1999 to be close to her children and to play bridge at Evergreen Commons. Laura loved to play bridge and dearly cared for all of her bridge friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roland Legg, mother and father, Helen and Walter Nichols, brother Walter Nichols Jr. and nephew Scott Nichols.

Laura will be remembered fondly and greatly missed by her children Arthur and Kathleen Legg of Rogers Arkansas, Roland and Joanne Legg of Grand Rapids and Thomas and Susan Fabiano of Holland, her grandchildren Lori and Jeff Darlington of Ft. Lauderdale FL, Julie Legg of Bronson MI, Brian and Jaclyn Legg of Kansas City. MO, Marcus Fabiano of Birmingham, MI, Nicole Fabiano of Holland, great- grandson Bryant Legg- Elkins of Bronson, MI, nephews Bill and Robert Nichols and sister- in- law Shirley Nichols.

Laura was the best mother you could ever ask for, always putting her family first. She set a good example for her children setting her expectations high. She was a loving and giving person. Laura was a “ stay at home” Mom and every summer she would leave Detroit and take her children to Coldwater Lake. Her only brother Nick and family, had a cottage next door. The families spent every summer together making wonderful memories. Laura knew how to entertain and always loved to have her family and friends close by. Every holiday was a special celebration and she would decorate for the occasion. She had a passion for card games and always wanted to win. The grandchildren knew she was hard to beat, but the challenge was there. Gma will be missed.
