Larry Pruitt

Pruitt, Larry 1/27/1951 - 10/13/2022 Kalamazoo Larry Pruitt, 71, of Kalamazoo, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 13, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Laurie DeLoof Pruitt; his sister, June Sink of Davenport, Florida; a close circle of family and friends; and a number of cherished pets. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Helen Pruitt. Larry was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on January 27, 1951 and grew up in the nearby town of Coloma. His natural creativity and vision led to a career in the beauty industry, training in New York, Toronto and the UK, where he mastered his craft. In 1985, Larry and Laurie opened the iconic Folio Salon in Kalamazoo, which became a beloved fixture of the downtown district for 36 years. Outside of work, Larry was an avid antique collector and sold his impressive menagerie of treasures to private clientele. His world was also colored by a great love of rescue dogs, adopting dogs throughout his life and giving each the best life imaginable. Per Larry's wishes, there will be no funeral service or memorial.
