Kenny R. O'Connor, age 65, of Edwardsburg, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2022, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Mishawaka, Indiana. He was born June 9, 1956, in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Kenneth Zella O'Connor and Hazel Virginia Lillie. He married Cathy Lynn Riddle on June 30, 1983, in Mishawaka, Indiana and was looking forward to celebrating their 39th wedding anniversary. Kenny grew up in Edwardsburg and graduated from Edwardsburg High School, Class of 1974. After high school he was employed as an Electronics Technician at Crown Audio in Elkhart, Indiana. In 1978, he joined IBEW Local 153 in South Bend, Indiana, completed apprenticeship, and worked many years as a Journeyman Electrician. In 2005, he accepted a position at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo as an Environmental Controls Person, joined AFSCME Local 1668, and retired from WMU in 2019. Kenny had a wonderful sense of humor and was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, computers, electronics, muscle cars, and watching football. He was the only child of his parents, who predeceased him. Surviving is his wife Cathy (Riddle) O'Connor; their two daughters, Dr. Lindsey N. O'Connor of Las Vegas, Nevada and Dr. Jaclyn M. O'Connor of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; in-laws, Robert and Connie Riddle of Mishawaka, Indiana; brothers-in-law, John (Robin) Riddle of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Thomas (Carmen) Riddle of Oxford, Connecticut; three nieces, two nephews, and lots of friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561. The Funeral Service will be on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with the burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
