Kenneth Swanson

Kenneth Alan Swanson of Kalamazoo passed away Friday, November 30th at the age of 75. Ken was born November 27th, 1943 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. Ken was the son of Clifford and Hazel Swanson and has lived in the Kalamazoo area all of his life. He was united in Marriage to Violet Swanson for 34 loving years until her passing in 2012. Ken worked as a machinist for Eaton & eventually Cytec where he retired. Ken loved to travel, head to deer camp, fish, boat, play cards, discuss cars and square dance in his younger years. He enjoyed visiting with friends, scooting around in his golf cart and spending time with family. Preceded in Death by Wife, Violet Swanson; Father, Clifford Swanson; Mother, Hazel Swanson (simkins); Sister, Jeanette Swanson Lancaster; Brother, Richard Swanson; Brother-in-laws, Bernie Campbell. Survived by: Sister, Shirley Campbell; Brother-in-laws, Paul Lancaster; Douglas Miller (Judy); Sister-in-law, Val Pardee. Stepsons, David Walters (Sandy); Darrin Walters (Kay). Grandchildren, Rachael Walters; Ashley Walters; Andrew Walters (James Hubby); Elizabeth Lynch (Chaz). Great Grandchildren, Bella Walters; Charlie Lynch. 7 nieces, 1 nephew and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held at Calvary Reformed Church - 7829 5th Street, Mattawan, MI 49071 on Monday, December 10th.
