Obituary
Kelly Lee Tyler (King), age 66, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, in Portage, Michigan. Born on February 11, 1959, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Kelly lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Kelly built a successful career as a fraud investigator with PNC Bank, where her diligence and integrity earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
She was a loving wife to Scott Tyler and a devoted mother to their three sons: Joshua Tyler, Aaron Tyler and his wife Cortney, and Andrew Tyler. Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to her five cherished grandchildren: Isabella, Arianna, Brayden, Graham, and Stella Tyler. Her family was the heart of her world.
Kelly's zest for life was evident in the way she embraced every moment. For thirty years, she made an annual pilgrimage to Cancun-a tradition that began with getaways with Scott. Nine years ago, after being diagnosed with cancer, Scott encouraged her to continue the trips with her close friends. He believed-and she proved-that laughter shared among friends could be the best medicine. Whether basking in the sun with her toes in the sand or floating peacefully in her backyard pool when travel wasn't possible, Kelly found serenity near water.
Her home reflected her love of nature and beauty. She took great pride in her yard and landscaping-especially her beloved peonies. Some of these blooms were passed down from her grandparents Morris and Doris Dollahan, whose memory she honored through every blossom.
A passionate New England Patriots fan, Kelly had a deep love for quarterback Tom Brady. She followed the team faithfully across cities including Boston, Indianapolis, Cleveland, and Detroit alongside Scott. Training camp trips to Boston were another highlight of their shared adventures.
She is survived by her husband Scott Tyler; sons Joshua Tyler, Aaron (Cortney) Tyler, and Andrew Tyler; and grandchildren Isabella, Arianna, Brayden, Graham, and Stella Tyler; and her mother Beverly Crill. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Morris and Doris Dollahan.
