Keith Sutton

Keith Sutton, age 90 of Gobles, died peacefully at home under hospice care on December 19, 2021. He was born on May 29, 1931, in Traverse City, the son of Louis and Alvina (Olson) Sutton. Keith graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Always very patriotic, Keith was very proud of every family member who served in the military after him. He was a member of the American Legion in Schoolcraft. In 1981, he retired as a steam engineer from the Power Plant at the State Hospital in Kalamazoo. Sadly, he was preceded in death by three wives, Anna, Maxine, Michaeline and his three brothers, Verne, Garlef (Pat) and LeRoy (Nip). His family was the most important thing to him and many family members always called him by his nickname Skeet. He enjoyed time with them especially sharing his hobbies, like fishing. Smelt dipping with his brother Pat was a beloved past time. His family includes his children: Judy Landin and Michael (Susan Andring) Sutton; his brother-in-laws: Pat (Ruth) Kelley and Tom (Vicki) Kelley; his sister-in-laws: Sharon (Greg) Kilburn and Mary Barrett; his step-children: Rip (Lisa) Soule and Shannon (Charlie) Chambers; his 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 11 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, January 7th, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 622 S. Burdick St. Kalamazoo, MI 49007, where a visitation will also be held from 10-11 AM on Saturday, January 8th. A chapel service with military honors will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South at 11:30 AM. Memorial donations in memory of Keith can be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
