Kathy Paul

Paul, Kathy M. Kathy M. Paul, age 60 of Portage, passed away December 12, 2020 at home surrounded by family. She was born July 24, 1960 in Paw Paw, Michigan. Kathy spent her childhood in Paw Paw before moving to Kalamazoo after high school. She met her husband while working at Denooyer Chevrolet in downtown Kalamazoo. The two fell in love quickly and later gave birth to their son Jonathan. Kath was a fierce and passionate business owner for over 30 years, the proprietor of Kalamazoo Stripping and DeRusting. She found peace in gardening and spending time at the beach. Her proudest moments were the birth of her two grandchildren. There was nothing more she enjoyed than watching the two of them play. Kath touched many in her community, giving generously from her heart and serving as a board member of the Elizabeth Upjohn Healing Center, where she organized an annual diaper drive every holiday season. She encouraged those around her to lend a helping hand and practice empathy when possible. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending time watching them grow. She was a passionate sports fan, who never missed a big game. Kath could often be seen dancing to her favorite Motown songs, singing along to every lyric. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Jon D. Paul; son, Jonathan Paul; daughter-in-law, Mandi Paul; grandchildren, August and Remy Paul; as well as many close friends and employees whom she considered family. Per Kath's wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of Kath's life will be planned and announced at a later date.
