Kathleen Cook

Kathleen Ann Cook passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2026, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Born on November 18, 1955, in Kalamazoo, Kathleen was the daughter of Otto and Virginia (Rice) Reinbold. She graduated from Vicksburg High School as part of the Class of 1973. In January of that same year, she married Roy Lee Cook. During their 20-year marriage, they welcomed three children: Michelle, Stephanie, and Michael.

Kathleen retired as an Administrative Secretary at Kalamazoo Valley Community College (KVCC). A devout Christian, she found joy in crafting, reading, and music. Above all else, Kathleen cherished time spent with her family. Holidays and family gatherings held a special place in her heart. She will be remembered for living a life marked by grace, quiet strength, and heartfelt compassion.

Kathleen is survived by her children: Michelle (Troy) Storey, Stephanie (Jerry) Girdner, and Michael (Bill Combs) Cook; her grandsons: Derrick (Madison) Girdner, Andrew Merritt Jr, and Michael Skylar Merritt; her great grandchildren: Paige, Braxton, Cali, Bentley, Scarlette, Jackson and Lincoln; her sister Nancy Drenth; and her stepfather Jack Cook.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her loving parents and sister Pamela Gettys.
