Obituary
Karl B. Hascall, age 48, of Ada, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 23, 2008. He was preceded in death by his brother, Guy Hascall; brother-in-law, Mark Neely; grandparents, Ralph (Bertha) Milius, John (Lucille) Hascall. Surviving are his wife, Susan; mother, Kathryn Hascall of Cascade; father, Wayne (Joyce) Hascall of Spring Lake; brother, Dag (Jennifer) Hascall of Ada; father-in-law, Dr. Richard (Fran) Neely; mother-in-law, Sandra K. Neely; sisters-in-law, Cindy (Tom) Neely-Bolgert, Joanne Neely-McDonald; nieces and nephews, Arielle, Quinn, Aiden, Ave and Luc Hascall, Sam, Laura and John Bolgert; aunts and uncles, Virginia (Bill) Layman, Donna (Ron) Pauley; step brother, Scott (Dina) Breidenstein; step sister, Jennifer Breidenstein; step nephews, Elliot and Maxx; cousins, Jason (Brenda) Bargenquast, their children, Jackson, Shelby, Jonathan and Isabella; and beloved pet, Milli. Karl was actively involved as Chairman, Kent County Republican Committee; Chairman, Kent County Republican Finance Committee; Member of Kent GOP Executive Committee; Chairman of Kent GOP Golf Outing; Community Development Vice President, Grand Rapids Jaycees; Management Development; President, Grand Rapids Jaycees Foundation; Co-Chairman, First of America Classic (Senior PGA Tournament); Chairman Vegas Nights; Life-member, Grand Rapids Jaycees; Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senator; Michigan Jaycee Legal Counsel; West Michigan Variety Club, Chief Barker; Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth, Co-Chairman of Camp O'Malley Fund Drive; Chairman of Fund Development Committee Member; Board of Directors; Grand Rapids Rotary Member; Leadership Grand Rapids, Graduate - 1993; Committee Member; Grand Rapids Economic Club Member; Michigan Political Leadership Program - Graduate; Gerald R. Ford Council BSA Board Member; ADA Trail Committee Member; Named One of Five Outstanding Young Michigander from the Michigan Jaycees. Karl's family will meet relatives and friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with memorial service at 12 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2008 at Frederik Meijer Garden, 1000 E. Beltline NE with Pastor Lonnie Shields of New Life Christian Fellowship Church officiating. Visitation Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the O'Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE.
