Karen Meier

Meier, Karen S. Portage Passed away Monday afternoon, October 19, 2020. Karen was born November 30, 1962 in Cherry Hill, NJ the daughter of Ronald and Dagmar Hermanns. She was a graduate of Galesburg-Augusta High School; class of 1981, and attended KVCC. She was involved with the Lion's Club. Karen was a devoted mother who enjoyed sharing her children's accomplishments and loved her solitaire. She was also a huge Barry Manilow Fan! Karen is survived by her fiance, Wayne Flipse; children, Megan Meier, Adam Meier; her mothers, Dagmar Hermanns & Margerie VanGeel; sisters and brothers, Kim Hermanns, Debbie Davis, Michael Hermanns, Charles VanGeel, Jr., John VanGeel, Brian VanGeel, Angela Stuckey; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be directed to the Lending Hands, Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, or Rose Arbor. Cremation has taken place and there will be a small service at the VFW Post #827 (562 Portage Street Kalamazoo 49001) on Saturday, October 31st from 10am to 2pm.
