ERHART (Belmont) - Mr. Julius (Jack) Erhart, age 81, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, while being surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 2, 1928, in Englishville, MI to Harold R. and Leona (Montgomery) Erhart. A Korean War veteran, he loved his country and his family. Jack served in Korea as a lineman and sharpshooter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing with his friends and family and was a long time member of the Moose Lodge in Sparta, MI. Jack loved to joke, tease, and tell stories to anyone who would listen. He was a long time supporter of the Michigan Lottery. For many years Jack worked as a bus driver for North Star Lines, and he retired as a truck driver from Roth Trucking. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Marge C. Erhart; his children, Connie (Gary) Meyers of Cedar Springs, Kelly (Carla) Erhart of Kent City, Jeff (Julie) Erhart of Belmont, Dan Erhart of Clarksville and his friend, Holly; sister, Barbara Erhart of Grand Rapids; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; aunts, Elsie Montgomery of Sparta, and Glendora Moore of Durand; and many cousins. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard; sister, Nola; his granddaughter, Michelle Southwell; and his great grandson, Andrew Meyers. The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Erhart will be offered on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Assumption BVM Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter Vu presiding. Military honors will be under the auspices of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard with interment in Pine Grove Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. The Scripture Service will be prayed on Friday evening at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Consolata Missionary Sisters or Assumption BVM Catholic Church. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the Pederson Funeral Home from 2:30 to 4:30 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday and prior to the Mass at the church on Saturday.
