Julia Smith

Smith, Julia Kalamazoo, Michigan Julia Ann Smith, of Kalamazoo, died Saturday morning, June 4, 2022. Julia was born Julia Ann Wright, August 23, 1933, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan, a daughter of Chester J. and Lillian Wright. Julia was a resident of Kalamazoo for over 60 years. She married Robert Matthew Smith on April 7, 1951, and he preceded her in death in 2009. Julia was a beloved daughter, wife and mother to her family and had a compassionate heart for animal welfare. She will be greatly missed. Julia was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Ida Marie Wright. She has two surviving daughters, Carol (George) Watral of Deltona FL, and Dorothy (Robert) Watson of Kalamazoo. Services will be held on Friday, June 10th, at 11:30 AM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo, where the family will greet friends from 10:30 AM-11:30 AM, prior to service. Entombment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to an Animal Rescue Program of your choice. The family would like to thank Della Hinkel for the years of care and friendship she gave to Julia.
