Judyann "Judy" Hewkin, age 73, of Kalamazoo and formerly of Richland went Home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday afternoon, September 19, 2020. She was born in Battle Creek on October 29, 1946, the daughter Charles E. and Gladys E. (Whaley) Grace. Judy graduated from Battle Creek Central High School with the Class of 1965 and furthered her education at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She served as an Executive Secretary at the Battle Creek Federal Center and Downtown Kalamazoo Incorporation. Judy married the "Love of Her Life", David R. Hewkin at The First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek on June 18, 1966; he sadly preceded her in death on March 5, 2016. She is survived by her children, Christina A. "Tina" (Jerry) Lorio of Parchment and David R. (Alice) Hewkin of Battle Creek; six grandchildren, Joshua, Andrew & Timothy Lorio, Zachary Campbell, and Austin & Faith Hewkin; and a great-grandchild, Landyn Lorio. Judy was also preceded in death by her parents. Judy was an active member at Living Hope Community Church in Richland where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the "Just Our" Breast Cancer Survivor and Support Group and a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for more than 50 years. Family was everything to Judy and she enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could. Lovingly known as the "Craft Master", Judy enjoyed sewing and crocheting. The family will receive friends 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2020 at the Living Hope Community Church 9292 East CD Ave., Richland where funeral services to celebrate Judy's life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Richland. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Parkinson's Foundation, or to the church.
