Petrick, Judith (Judy) 11/24/1939 - 2/7/2023 Kalamazoo, MI Judith "Judy" Petrick peacefully passed away Tuesday, February 7t , 2023, surrounded by members of her loving family. She was born on November 24th, 1939, to Vincent and Carrie (Ward) Bice in Philadelphia, PA. Judy's early years were spent in Pennsylvania and South Carolina before living most of her childhood in Needham, MA. Judy attended Westbook College in Portland Maine. Upon finishing her studies at Westbrook, Judy moved out west to San Francisco and obtained a job with Allis-Chalmers. While in San Francisco, Judy met the love of her life and husband of 54 years, Richard (Dick) Petrick. On December 29th, 1962, Dick and Judy were wed in holy matrimony. Judy, Dick and their four kids spent time in Chamblee, GA and Cedarburg, WI before finally settling down in the Kalamazoo area. Cherished friends were made while living in Portage and Richland before retiring to a home on Lake Doster in Plainwell. While raising her kids, Judy's network of friends grew as all her kids' friends quickly became a friend to her. She always wanted to know how everyone was doing and genuinely loved every opportunity she got to spend time catching up. When all the kids were in school, Judy spent several years working in the Medical Records department at Borgess Hospital. Judy was also recognized for being a great co-host as she and Dick spent several years successfully hosting the Upjohn Sales Academy Awards. Judy's hobbies included traveling, boating around Lake Doster, reading, and creating art. However, nothing made her happier than spending time with her husband, kids and eight grandchildren. Judy, with her infectious laugh and optimistic outlook will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Judy is survived by her children; Doug (Kim) Petrick, John (Tracie) Petrick, Jennifer Petrick and David (Laura) Petrick; grandchildren, Alex (fianc Cabel), Kyle, Paige, Leah, Ali, James, Jack, Carley and many loving nieces, nephews and relatives. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; parents, Vincent and Carrie; and sister, Carolyn (Bice) Stokes. A memorial service will be held at Radiant Church, 8157 E. DE Ave, Richland, MI on Monday, February 13 th at 1:00 PM. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ASPCA, Hospice or a charity of their choice.
