Obituary
Judith Kay Morris Bell, lovingly known as Judy, passed from this life due to heart and kidney failure after a life marked by faith, kindness, and steady devotion to the people she loved. Judy, age 80 of Portage, died on June 21, 2026, under hospice care at home with her family by her side.
She was born on November 14, 1945, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Jack and Jean (Schnurer) Morris. Judy and her family moved to Portage, where she graduated from Portage Central High School in 1963.
She attended cosmetology and business school, working as a beautician for many years. Judy used her customer experience and business skill in her roles at Sears, Centre Street Market and the Millennium Greenhouse. People naturally gravitated towards Judy's smile, laughter and kindness. She was a servant for others, especially her family. Judy loved to read her Bible and study the word. She was health conscious and was often found on walks enjoying God's beauty.
Judy's faith in Christ was central to who she was. As a Christian, she lived with hope, trust, and an enduring belief in God's promises. Her life reflected the words of Scripture and the peace that comes from walking with the Lord.
Judy met Tony the summer of 1983 and they married on February 24, 1990, She is survived by her son Kent Wilkinson, her grandchildren: Nicole, Anthony, Kayla, Jada, Sidney, Joel and Lauren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, (Jack & Jean) her sons Kevin Johnson and Kirk Wilkinson, also her brother Jerry Morris.
Friends may gather with her family on Thursday, June 25th , 2026, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 411 E. Centre Avenue, Portage.
A committal service will be held June 26th at 11:00 AM at South Portage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Judy may be made to Adopt a Pet - Kalamazoo Animal Control.
