Juanita Morrell (6/24/1925 - 6/14/2017), age 91, went to be with her Lord on June 14, 2017. She was born June 24, 1925 in Cotulla, Texas, daughter to John and Mabel Schulze. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; her son, Gil; sister, Edith and brother, David. Juanita will be lovingly remembered by her children Niki (Larry) Brace, Gary Morrell, Sheree (Sam) Cooke, JoAnn (Peter) Molnar, and Kay (Vernon) Finch; brother John Paul (Sylvia) Schulze; 10 grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and extended relatives. Nita provided for a family of eight with tireless, back-breaking work as a homemaker, gardener and seamstress. She was a caregiver to numerous children that were not her own who came to know her as, "Grandma Nita." She never asked for anything in return. Her homemade bread, pies, and cookies were infamous. Strangers would stop to admire her gardens. And as if that was not enough to fill a life, she and Dad chose to raise their son, Gil, at home at a time when many Down's children were institutionalized. Their steadfast love and care gave him 62 years of unexpected longevity. A Celebration of Juanita's life and family memorial graveside service, where she will be laid to finally rest beside her husband of 62 years and her son, will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn St., Allegan, Michigan 49010. The family welcomes messages and memories in their online guestbook at www.kubiakcook.com.
