Juan Castaneda

Castaneda, Juan L. Otsego, MI Juan passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born April 22, 1953 in Plainwell, the son of Santiago and Amelia (Lopez) Castaneda. Juan worked at Menasha for 27 years until his retirement in 2004. He then went on to graduate from Scottsdale Culinary Institute in 2007. In his free time Juan loved building things. He enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, football and for many years played indoor soccer. Juan loved corvettes especially 1963 and 1965 models. He liked boating, walking his dog coco and for the past 15 years enjoyed RVing with his wife to spend winters in Texas. Juan was happiest when surrounded by his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In 1976 in Otsego he married Deborah Covault who survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Marcey (Craig) Sweet of Otsego and Angelicka (Shawn) Swinehart of Eaton Rapids; 6 grandchildren, Johnathan (Sara), Madison, Payton, Ellie, Cooper and Laney; 2 great-grandchildren, Avory and Jameson; siblings, Jimbo, Rickey, David, Freddy and Albert along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Willie, Victor and Junior. According to his wishes cremation has taken place.
