Jo, the daughter of Glenn and Mary Margaret (Daniels) Cunningham, was born in Tekonsha, MI and was a 1952 graduate of Homer High School. She retired in 1996 after 20 years of faithful service as a secretary for the Upjohn Company of Kalamazoo. Jo was a member of the Gull Lake United Methodist Church of Richland for many years. She took great joy in serving others, at the church and elsewhere. Jo was united in marriage to James R. Hopkins in Coldwater, MI in 1953, he preceded her in death on June 14, 2007. Surviving are a daughter, Beverly J. (Gary Arndt) Snyder of Schoolcraft, MI; a son, James R. (Cindy) Hopkins of Schoolcraft, MI; six precious grandchildren; Justin Wonders, Kevin Wonders, Cody Hopkins, Heather (Hopkins) Johnson, Jennifer Snyder, Kameron Snyder and four great grandchildren; Nyan, Ally, Vyvian, Grant. Jo was also preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. The Memorial Service to celebrate Jo's life will be held on Friday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m. in the Gull Lake United Methodist Church, 8640 Gull Road, Richland, MI 49083 with the Rev. Mike Tupper, officiating. Jo's family will greet friends on Friday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until service time and immediately following the service in the Church Social Hall for a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jo's honor may be directed to the American Heart Association and/or Gull Lake United Methodist Church.
