John Kitchen

Kitchen, John "Jack" John "Jack" W. Kitchen, Jr. age 85, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Paw Paw passed away peacefully, Friday, Oct. 9, 2015 at Friendship Village Hospice House , Tempe, AZ. Jack was born May 26, 1930 in Kalamazoo the son of the late John W. and Caroline I. (Miller) Kitchen, Sr. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U. S. Army, with Headquarters Company, First Infantry Division and later in Germany. While stationed in Germany, Jack met Annemarie Bichler and was united in marriage on July 15, 1952 in Darmstadt, Germany. She preceded him in death on June 12, 1997. Jack was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a carrier in the village of Paw Paw until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw and McKinley-Wilson-Hall V.F.W. Post # 2532 , Paw Paw. On October 19, 1998, in Hawaii, Jack was united in marriage to Margaret J. (Nadwornik) Argo who survives. Also surviving is a niece, Ingrid Schlickenrieder of Munich, Germany; step-daughter, Linda (Archie) Davies of Paw Paw; daughter-in-law, Kathy Argo of Paw Paw; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step-son, David Argo. Family will receive friends Monday 6 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Paw Paw with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to West Michigan Cancer Center, Kalamazoo.
