Obituary
Jack passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the age of 77, at Bronson Methodist Hospital with his son, Jon, by his side. He was born November 1, 1947, to the late Frank and Mary (MacDonald) Pearsall.
Jack was born in Glen Cove, NY before moving to Madison, NJ in 1960, where he graduated with the Madison High School Class of 1965. He went on to earn an associate's degree in mechanical engineering, a career path that led him many places, including Vietnam in a civilian capacity, before settling his family in Portage, MI.
A man of many talents, Jack built a career not only in engineering but also as a published author, inventor, and entrepreneur. Most recently, he found great pride and joy as co-owner of Vickers' Lakeside Tavern, which he opened with his son, Jon, in 2018. Jack and Jon were lucky enough to build and manage their business together almost every day since opening. Jack was loved by employees, customers, and vendors alike.
Though his professional accomplishments were many, Jack's true passion shone brightest in his personal life. An avid golfer, he was happiest on the course or cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was the life of family dinners as the grill master, and he thrived in the company of friends at his favorite local spots. Known for his sharp wit, warm humor, and generous spirit, Jack had a gift for making people feel welcomed and valued. He never met a stranger and left a lasting impression wherever his journey took him. He will be remembered as a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a gifted storyteller who brought laughter and light to countless lives.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son, Jon Pearsall; brother, Alen "Frank" Pearsall; and sister, Barbara Christensen.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 12:00-8:00pm at Vickers' Lakeside Tavern, 130 W Prairie St, Vicksburg, MI 49097.
