John H. "Jack" Reinoehl

Reinoehl, John H. "Jack" Kalamazoo, MI John "Jack" Henry Reinoehl, age 75, of Kalamazoo passed away on January 14, 2023. Jack was a math professor at Hillsdale College. Jack held an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and received his doctorate from U C Berkley in Theoretical Mathematics. Jack is survived by his three brothers Bruce (Terrie), Paul (Barbara), and Joel (Stacey); and six nieces and nephews, Cathryn, Sarah, Kendra, Mary Alice, Bradley, and Olivia. Jack was a passionate bird watcher, taking more than 40 tours all over the world to see birds. In his life he saw over half of the birds in the world. He loved his trips to Whitefish Point during spring and fall migrations. He participated in the Michigan bird counts for over 50 years, often he would summarize the findings and write the annual reports. Later in his life he was also active with butterfly groups to monitor populations and compile the reports. Private burial services will be held in Riverside Cemetery in Custer Michigan.
