John Charles Relken

John Charles Relken, a dedicated husband, father, father-in-law, friend and true inspiration, passed away surrounded by his family, Monday December 25, 2023. John was born February 24, 1954, in Port Huron, MI, to Edward and Maurine (George) Relken.

John worked in the paper industry from 1972-2020, where he started on the machines and eventually became a Human Resources Manager. John had numerous passions from working on cars, hunting and fishing, to watching Nascar and visiting Nascar race tracks. John is leaving a legacy of positivity, which was always evident during his battle with a rare muscle disease, and his never wavering faith in Jesus.

On May 4, 1974, John married the love of his life, LuAnn, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Aimee (Edward) Brierly and Jessi. His four grandsons, Bryce, Wade, Isaac and Colt Brierly; siblings Jim (Marian) Relken and Carol Whitcher; sister in law Betty (Jim) Ward and sister in law Ruth Relken; and numerous nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Edward and Maurine Relken, and brother, Steve Relken.

Family and friends may visit with John's family Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 3-5 PM, at Radiant Church in Richland. Funeral service to follow at same location from 5-6 PM. 8157 E De Avenue, Richland, MI 49083.
