John Alexander Ptacek

Passed away Thursday February 8, 2018 at Bronson Methodist Hospital surrounded by his loving family. John was born to Frank and Anna (Poulick) Ptacek October 6, 1934 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was married to Sharon Baird August 7, 1970 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. After John retired from Bonnes Electric, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and golfing for many years. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Ptacek; siblings Liddy Ivens of Portage and Jerry (Jean) Ptacek of Punta Gorda, FL; children Randolph (Linda) Ptacek of Portage, Dennis (Corinne) Overmyer of Kalamazoo, Robert (Cathy) Ptacek of Allegan, Dawn (Gregory) Kuethe of Sturtevant, WI, Jeffrey (Lisa) Overmyer of South Bend, IN, John (Carmen) Ptacek of Hudson, OH; grandchildren Michael Overmyer (Katelyn O'Grady), David (Hannah)Ptacek, Kelly (Daniel Robinson) Ptacek, Chelsea Rowley (Daniel Marks), Terry Rowley, Heather Banks, J.D. Overmyer, Bailey Overmyer, Elisabeth Ptacek, John Aiden Ptacek, Caroline Ptacek, Lisa (Adam) Danapilis, Todd (Brianne) Ptacek, Michelle (Brian) Clark, Kristen (Alena Armstrong) Overmyer, Cody (Kristen) Overmyer ; great-grandchildren Rebecca Danapilis, Nolan Danapilis, Lily Clark, Blake Clark, Layla Banks. John is preceded in death by his brother Joseph Ptacek. A visitation will be held Monday February 12, 2018 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 7:30 pm at Redmond Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Tuesday February 13, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery; A Luncheon to follow. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter.
