JoAnn passed away Friday, March 6, 2020, in Kalamazoo. She was born May 1, 1923, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Henry and Effie (VanderVeen) VanOosten. For twenty-seven years she had served the mentally disabled at MRC Industries. In her free time she enjoyed flowers, gardening, being outdoors, and watching the birds. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. JoAnn was an active member of Twin Lakes Reformed Church in Kalamazoo. On May 7, 1945, in Seattle, Washington, she married Robert Kline who passed away in 2004. Surviving are her children, John (Judy) Kline of Kalamazoo, Mary Jean (Lou) Lotz of Hudsonville and Nancy (Greg) Jolliffe of Allegan; 6 grandchildren, Todd, Chris, Andrew, Meredith, Mike and Bill and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Ted VanOosten and Frances Krusinga. Friends may visit with JoAnn's family starting at 12:00 P.M., Monday, March 9, 2020, at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 P.M., with Rev. Lou Lotz officiating. Burial will follow at Alamo Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of JoAnn may be made to Kalamazoo Christian Schools or to the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation.
