Jerry Gilbert Oviatt

Jerry Gilbert Oviatt, 74, of Galesburg, MI., passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023.

Jerry was born May 19, 1949 in Paw Paw, Michigan to Frank and Barbara (Stratton) Oviatt. He was a graduate of Galesburg-Augusta High School. He was on the 1966 State Championship Football team and in 2011 inducted into the Galesburg-Augusta High School Hall of Fame. He stayed connected with Galesburg's football program. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. Jerry enjoyed hunting, bowling, and riding motorcycles.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Brian (Kelly) Oviatt and Chad (Romey) Oviatt; grandchildren, Ariel (Kevin) Foust and Curtis (Lauren) Oviatt; step-grandchildren, Ashley, Gabrielle, Haley, and Ava; four great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Jim (Bonnie) Oviatt and Dave (Beverly) Oviatt along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Jay and Terry.

Jerry's family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Augusta Chapel from 10:00 a.m. to the 11:00 a.m. time of service officiated by Pastor Whitney Brown. Interment with full military honors will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Galesburg. Family requests that you dress as you knew Jerry, such as Galesburg-Augusta Alumni or Harley-Davidson apparel.
