Jerry B. Howrigon

Jerry passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 in Kalamazoo. Jerry was born October 13, 1943 in Plainwell the son of Leon and Velma (Breck) Howrigon. Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. For 16 years he owned and operated Modern Cleaners and also worked for Beaver Research Chemical until his retirement.

In his free time Jerry liked watching TV and satisfying his sweet tooth with a bowl of ice cream. He was an avid Tigers, Lions and Red Wings fan and enjoyed golfing in his younger years. Jerry was an active member of St. Margaret Catholic Church for the last 16 years, the Knights of Columbus and the Otsego Elks Lodge. On June 26, 1965 at St. Margaret Catholic Church he married Dinah Thompson who survives. Also surviving are his children, Rebecca (Dan) Pearson of Plainwell, Brian (Rebecca) Howrigon of Plainwell and Jon 'Pat' (Angela) Howrigon of Otsego; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; a brother Robert Howrigon and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Jack and Gene. Friends may visit with Jerry's family at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego from 4 – 8 P.M. Monday, October 23, 2023 where a Rosary will be held at 7:30 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Margaret Catholic Church, Otsego. Burial will follow at St. Margaret Catholic Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Jerry may be made to St. Margaret Catholic Church or St. Margaret Catholic School.
