Jennie Pikkaart

Jennie Pikkaart, age 96 of Kalamazoo, died peacefully at her home on November 5, 2021. She was born February 25, 1925, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Rhine and Grace Jager. Jennie was a graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School. She worked for 35 years at First of American Bank. In 1952, she married Hubert Pikkaart, and they shared many wonderful years together until his death in 2004. They were members of Second Christian Reformed Church. Her family includes her children: Lynn and Mark Pratt and Lori and John Veldt; her grandchildren: Kevin (Heather) Pratt, Kathy (Damian) Koob, Daniel Pikkaart, Nathan (Lindsey) Veldt, Matthew (Kayleigh) Veldt, and David (Aimee) Veldt; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Rhine & Anna Jager and Grace Jager, her husband Hubert, her son Larry Pikkaart, her granddaughter Lisa Veldt, her sister Johanna Rapotec, and her brother Rhine Jager. Friends may visit with her family on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Fred DeYoung officiating.
