Jenni R Shilts, 36, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on Thursday May 13, 2021 in Kalamazoo MI. She was born on February 22, 1985 in Kalamazoo MI to Gary and Gale (Garrison) Shilts.

As a child Jenni enjoyed being at her grandparents cottage on Long Lake with her family and friends. There she would spend many summers playing, swimming, fishing, anything that would allow her to be outdoors as that is what she loved. Jenni graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 2003, where she then went on to Kalamazoo Valley Community college. In 2006 Jenni began working at PNC bank where she spent 12 years working there.

One of her biggest joys and accomplishments was being a mother to her 5 children, whom she always bragged about. And being the best auntie she could be. One of her favorite memories was being able to watch her son play baseball. She never missed a single game in his many years of playing. She was always finding activities outside to do with them whether it was going to the park, taking them tubing down the river, or simply being able to sit outside their yard and watch them play. She was with them every chance she had. She always took pride in being the best daughter, sister, and friend she could be. She was always someone that everybody could go to and someone that you would always be able to lean on even in times of her own struggles. Jenni also enjoyed shopping, home improvement projects, and cooking for everybody. Her spaghetti will always be a favorite recipe for many.

Jenni will always be remembered for her beautiful ocean blue eyes, her always funny and outgoing personality, and her big caring heart and generosity to others. But most of all she will be remembered as a fighter and one of the strongest women we have ever known as she battled her last years with her illness, and even in those times being more worried about others than her own self. Her selfless love will carry on through many years to come.

Jenni is survived by her parents; her children, Jayde, Elijah, Kaylin, Kaidence, Amari; brother Scott Shilts; Uncles, Bob (Robin) Garrison and Lyle Garrison; other aunts and uncles; and nieces and nephews. Jenni was preceded in death by her grandparents Fred and Jeanne Shilts. A memorial service will take place on Thursday May 20th, at 2:30 pm at Centerpoint Church, 2345 10th St. Kalamazoo MI, 49009. Pastor Dar VanderWal will officiate services. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes. Please visit Jenni's personalized web page at https://www.langelands.com
