Obituary
Jeffrey M Lentz, M.D. passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2026, at his home. His loss will be deeply felt by his family, friends, colleagues, and many patients he cared for throughout his life. Jeff was born on May 12, 1963, in Dearborn, Michigan. The second child of Gloria and Gordon Lentz of Bonita Springs, Florida and Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is survived by his children, Matthew Griffin Lentz and Isabella Bouchard Lentz, his mother Gloria Lentz; brothers Brad and Greg Lentz, sister in law Elizabeth Lentz, and several nieces and nephews. Jeff graduated from Portage Northern High School, where he lettered in tennis. He went on to graduate from Kalamazoo College, the University of Michigan followed by medical training at Georgetown University, Tulane University, the Texas Heart Institute, and the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a board-certified anesthesiologist and a fourth-degree black belt in karate. Jeff had a deep passion for orthopedic and neurologic anesthesia and was dedicated to his profession. Outside of medicine, he loved cooking for his family and friends -his kitchen was always stocked with every spice imaginable, and he took great joy in preparing others' favorite meals. He was a avid traveler, pickleball enthusiast, reader, college sports fan and a lover of manatees. Jeff's spirit and strength will live on in the many lives he touched, through his care, kindness and enduring presence.
