Wagenfeld, Jeanne Jeanne Wagefeld of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on March 27, 2021. She was born on June 1, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY. Jeanne was a devoted mother to Amy, Eric, David, and Ellen and mother-in-law to Jeff, Jeanne, and Paul. Her grandchildren David and Ajna were the joys of her life. Jeanne was also sister to Gloria and David. Her intellectual curiosity and creative spirit led Jeanne to break many barriers in her life including education, by completing her Ed.D. in Counseling and Personnel in 1976 at the age of 41 while simultaneously parenting her four children and being a wife. She went on to become, among many professional roles, a beloved therapist and clinical director at Community Mental Health Paw Paw and Pathways Psychological Associates in Plainwell. She was also adjunct faculty in the Counseling Psychology program at WMU and like her role as a therapist, was loved by her students and fellow faculty. Jeanne loved to cook and was happiest when preparing special meals for those she loved. One of her standout specialties was sticky rolls, which were a Thanksgiving treat that everyone looked forward to eating. She was also an avid knitter who gave away many projects, including making afghans for all her children and grandchildren in colors that they most loved. Jeanne's marvelous sense of humor was infectious, sharing a laugh with her always brightened your day. Known for her generosity, compassion, kindness, ready smile, and determination, Jeanne was loved by many. She is dearly missed. A private family memorial will be hosted at a later time.
