Jeanne Grice

Jeanne passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 with her loving and caring family by her side. Jeanne was born in Mt. Pleasant, MI, on May 9, 1931, the daughter of Glenn and Beulah (Watson) Stutting. Jeanne attended Western Michigan University, then exchanged her college studies to marry, and later raise their three daughters. Jeanne is preceded in death by the love of her life of 53 years, John, in March of 2004; and her eldest daughter, Laura, in December of 2003. She is survived by her other two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Craig Cougill of Maumelle, Arkansas, and Sheryl and Robert Vick of Lawton; and two granddaughters, Madison and Samantha Cougill. Jeanne split her free time between volunteering (whether at her girl's schools, or other charitable organizations) where her attention to detail and artistic talents were valued. She also worked part-time at Gantos Women's Boutique, where her classic sense of style earned her several Top Sales Awards. Jeanne enjoyed spending summers between her family cottage at Mullett Lake, and their boat in South Haven. She was a longtime member of Kalamazoo Garden Club, Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, and served as Chairman of Century Ball. She also volunteered at Borgess Gift Shop, and was a season ticket holder of Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Farmer's Alley, and WMU Theater for many years. No visitation is scheduled, and a private family ceremony is planned at a later date.
