Jeanette Bos

BOS - Jeanette Alberta Bos, age 89, of Spring Lake passed away Thursday, December 31, 2009 at her home. She was born November 18, 1920 in Milwaukee to Marcus and Edna (Cornell) Gazan. Jeanette married the love of her life, Carroll Gilbert Bos on September 1, 1943 in Grand Rapids and moved to Spring Lake in 1948. Jeanette assisted her husband in his many business ventures as a gracious hostess, a meticulous bookkeeper and an accomplished secretary until his death on February 2, 2000. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved any occasion that included her family. She greatly enjoyed her exercise friends at Spring Lake Presbyterian Church and her kind and attentive neighbors. She was a member of Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church, a former member of Spring Lake Country Club and an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Jeanette will be greatly missed by her children, David C. and Gail Bos, Douglas and Janice Zuidema both of Spring Lake; grandchildren, Steven and Elizabeth Oosterheert of Walker, Jason and Anne Zuidema, David J. and Jakki Bos both of Grand Haven and Brent and Ellen Tuinstra of Hudsonville. She loved and thoroughly enjoyed her fourteen great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Ethan, Emily, Brayden, Landon, Audrey, Savannah, Mallory, Tristan, Shaun, Cassidy, Summer, Brianna and Alia. Jeanette was also survived by her brother and sister-in-laws, Betty Vandenberg, June (John E.) Hamersma, both of Grand Rapids and Lawrence E. (Dolores) Bos Sr. of Ada. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Virginia (Orville) Greenman and Ruth (Adrian) VanderWeide and brother-in-law, Charles W. VandenBerg Sr. A Funeral Service for Jeanette will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Drew Sweetman officiating. Friends may meet the family Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake. Interment will be at Spring Lake Cemetery.
