Jean Gardner

Gardner, Jean M. Kalamazoo Age 90, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020. Jean was born in Lawrence, Michigan on August 15, 1930, the daughter of the late Walter and Leona (Norton) Coffinger. On August 28, 1948, she was united in marriage to Alfred A. Gardner, who preceded her in death on December 7, 2011. Jean loved cooking and baking, especially for her family and friends. She also enjoyed many years of camping and traveling. Jean is survived by her children, Ray (Mary) Gardner, Craig (Sue) Gardner, Larry (Donna) Gardner and Sharon (Jim) DenHamer; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Orrin (Edna) Coffinger and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her brother, Harlin (Evelyn); sisters, Wilma (Mark), Sue (Jack) and Margy (Larry); sister in-law, Lois (Ted) and brothers in-law, Bob (Joyce) and Cliff (June). A private committal service will take place at Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, Michigan. The family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to the staff of the Laurels of Galesburg and Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan for the care and compassion given to Jean during her final days.
