Jason Meade

Meade, Jason 4/8/1977 - 11/14/2022 St. Ignace, Michigan Jason Arthur Meade, age 45, of St. Ignace, Michigan, died at MyMichigan Medical Center in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, on November 14, 2022. He was born in Plainwell, Michigan, on April 8, 1977, to Wayne Eugene and Grace Ann (Wielinga) Meade. Jason grew up in Otsego, Michigan. After high school, he joined the United States Marines. He then attended Grand Rapids Community College - Culinary School program. Jason then moved to Mackinac Island in 2003 and began his career as Chef. Working Summer seasons in the French Outpost, Seabiscuit Cafe, and Goodfellow's Italian Chophouse and Wine Bar, and Winchester's. During the Winter Seasons, He worked at Village Inn, Mustang Lounge, and Sinclair Irish Pub. While on the Island, Jason met Aprille Bagatsing in 2005, and the two were married October 8, 2008, on Mackinac Island. Jason had a passion for cooking. He loved being creative with new recipes and criticizing foods. Jason also loved football; rooting for the University of Michigan and Detroit Lions. Jason is survived by his wife, Aprille Bagatsing Meade; daughters, Holly (Nick) VanderWall of Wyoming, Michigan and Kyla Bagatsing Bautista of Manila, Philippines; grandchildren, Kelsey and Samuel VanderWall; sister, Jeanette (Nathan) Clark of Otsego, Michigan; Niece and Nephews. Jason is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Grace Meade. A celebration of life will be held in Spring 2023. Galer Funeral Home & Cremation in Pickford, Michigan, is serving the family.
