RICHARDS, JANEY MARIE Janey's life began December 13, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan. The daughter of John and Retah (McGinty) Bohl, Janey grew up in Detroit, the youngest of five siblings. After high school graduation and some traveling, Janey settled in Plainwell, Michigan. On September 19th, 1982, in Plainwell's Hicks Park, Janey married the love of her life, her beloved, gentle soul mate, Jeffery Richards. For a time, they lived in Kalamazoo, finally settling in Plainwell raising Jeff's children, son Jeff Jr., daughter Amanda and loving grandson Kenny. Janey's pets were so very special to her - Zachery, Tanner and Lily. Life was a fun-filled adventure, sharing time with family, and friends were her joy. She also loved playing cards, visiting, camping, fishing, yard or beach parties, bonfires, hunting, golf cart rides, family reunions, trips back to Detroit for girlfriend weekends, and music of all kinds. Janey was always willing to offer guidance, loving care, kind words and help to all. Over the years, she worked in the finance world, in retail, banking, and production industries, also some local bartending. Her carefree spirit and love of music took her to local music festivals, making friends wherever she traveled. Janey was full of love, fun, and kindness; she would gently keep you in check when needed. Janey's surviving family includes her loving husband Jeff, children Jeff Jr. and Amanda, grandchildren Kenny, Atlanta, Sheyenne, Abigail, and great grandson Tayden. Also surviving are siblings James (Rosalie) Bohl, Jerome (Judith) Bohl, many nieces and nephews (who lovingly called her "AJ") and cousins and friends. On Thursday, April 2, 2020, Janey died at home under the care of her family and wonderful hospice nurses. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Judy, brother-in-Iaw Tiger Lane, brother John, sister-in-law Mary Bohl. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration will be held once the Covid-19 ban has been lifted. Those who wish may make a donation in Janey's memory to Wings of Hope Hospice, Allegan, MI, local food banks feeding school children or the charity of your choice.
