Janet Marie (Brown) Meulman went to be with her lord and savior while surrounded with love by her close family on Friday April 5th.

Born and raised in Kalamazoo, she graduated from Kalamazoo Central in 1959. She had a number of careers throughout her life, each one opening a door to the next. Starting as a bookkeeper, then to education administration, then the Kalamazoo Juvenile home, ending with a long journey in the printing industry. She opened & owned her own business, The Type Center, for 5 years, then worked for and retired from the Printmill. She used her talents to create a number of media guides for PNHS swimming and Volleyball, which earned her a spot in the PNHS Volleyball Hall of Fame. She was an active member of her class reunion committee "the 59-ers".

Jan is preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Edna "Jackie" Brown, sister Marianne Brown, and granddaughter Kimberly Holman. Survived by husband Bruce Meulman, brother David Brown, cousin Marcia (Bob) McCrary, daughters Pam Platteborze, Stacy (Victor) Warner, Shannon (Michael) Hogan, Sheryl (Brian) Main. Nieces and nephews Erika Lubieniecki, Paul (Christine) Lubieniecki, Tom (Amy) Brown, Genevieve Brown, Steven (Tammy) Brown. Grandchildren Lexi and Ethan Warner, Connor and Sarah Hogan, Makenzie and Tristan Main. Great Grandchildren Ellison, Laikyn, Oliver, Owen, and Adeline.

Her body was donated to WMU Medical School. A celebration of life will be held in June in Kalamazoo.

If you met Jan, you fully knew her. She always made a point of meeting people, connecting with them and offering her memorable smile & hugs.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Centrica Care Navigators and St. Andrew Community Church.
