Janet Lewis

Janet Kay Lewis, age 79, of Plainwell, passed away peacefully December 17, 2021. She was born January 26, 1942 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Richard and Letha (Baker) Lewis. She grew up in the Delton area and graduated from Richland High School in 1959. She is survived by her son, Frederick "Rick" (Nicole) Pike and her grandchildren, Colton and Siena Pike; nephew, Andy Lewis and nieces Sandee (Lewis) Thorne, Lauri (Maher) Emery, Karen (Maher) Cameron and Julie (Maher) Drier. Janet loved to entertain and be with people, enjoying stories and laughs. She was a long time bartender at Sunset Lanes in Portage and later she worked at Cooper Foundry in Cooper. Janet had a flair for cake decorating and for a number of years she taught classes and had her own cake and candy store. Janet treasured her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and her grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She spent as much time as she could with them as they grew, organizing craft and candy making activities. She had such an imagination and they always had fun with her, creating wonderful memories. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard "Rick" Lewis; sister, Sandra (Lewis) Maher; and nephew, David Lewis. Per Janet's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
