Janet (DeWeerd) Elzinga

(DEWEERD) Janet M. Elzinga, age 98, of Byron Center, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 8, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, George Elzinga; sister and brother-in-law, Gladys (John) Alles; brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Dorothy) Van Singel; sister-in-law, Jane Van Singel; and her daughter-in-law, Mary Elzinga. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, James (Lois) Elzinga, Allen Elzinga, Marilyn (Ronald) Nederveld, Daniel (Sharon) Elzinga, and Rose (George) Knarr; 19 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; her brothers, Willard (Jo) Van Singel, Harry (Connie) Van Singel, and Gordon (Tina) Van Singel; in-laws, Elizabeth (Harold) Jonker, Nancy Elzinga, and Jack Whitcomb; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. The family wishes to thank Railside Living Center and Faith Hospice for all the extra care and concern for our mom. The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Byron Center First Reformed Church (8425 Byron Center Ave SW) with Rev. Bruce Kuiper officiating. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, 2067 - 84th SW, Byron Center.
