James Smit

Smit, James Grand Rapids, MI James Smit, age 91, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022. Jim was an Army Veteran from the Korean War and the National Guards. He was preceded in death by his wives, Marilyn and Judith; son, Thomas Allen Smith; and special family member, Richard Krzykwa Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Robin Rasmussen, and Connie S. Smit; grandson, Jonathan Rasmussen; and special family member, April Vega. The family will have a time of sharing on Saturday, June 25, from 2 - 4 pm with family prayers and military honors by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo, MI, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods.
