Jack Donald Salisbury, age 87, of Kalamazoo passed away Tuesday evening, July 20, 2021 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. He was born in Battle Creek on February 18, 1934, the son of Leon and Gertrude (Hawkins) Salisbury and graduated from Comstock High School with the Class of 1955. Jack faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army and retired from James River Paper Company in 1994 after more than 38 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, antique cars, and popcorn. Jack married Lydia "Ann" Williams in Alabama on June 7, 1957. He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 64 years, Ann; his daughter, Deborah A. (Robin) Cuyler of Tennessee; his son, Donald J. Salisbury of Cadillac, Michigan; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Shoup of Otsego, Michigan. Jack was sadly preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda A. Cruse on April 16, 2013; his parents; two sisters and a brother. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 25th at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel, 9170 East D. Avenue (M-89) Richland, where services to celebrate Jack's life will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 26th. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
