Jack Durian

Durian, R. Jack Jack Durian passed away Sunday 2/5/2017 in Clearwater FL. Jack was born 6/27/1935 in Kalamazoo. After graduating from Kalamazoo Central, he spent two years in the service, then earned a business degree at WMU. He worked with his father-in-law, Clare Cornwell, at Kalamazoo Tent and Awning for several years, and then at General Motors 1966-1996. He was a resident of Portage 1959-2016, and happily wintered in Florida since retiring. Jack was an avid bowler and golfer; he loved to work, play, compete and spend time with friends. His smile and booming laugh will be sorely missed. Jack is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gail (Cornwell); his sister, Helen Chapman; his children, Doug Durian, Teri Durian, Jody Loehrs and Judy Blumka; and nine grandchildren, Tyler Blumka, Kelly Blumka, Danielle Blumka, Kyle Loehrs, Sarah Blumka, Sylvia Durian, Amanda Loehrs, Kennen Loehrs, and Julia Durian.
