Entered into the Lord's presence on October 19, 2019. The beloved son of Clarence and Ann (DeNooyer) DeMaagd, he was born in Kalamazoo on May 28, 1946. Jack was raised in a close family, sharing lively times with grandparents, aunts and uncles, and twenty-one cousins. A 1964 graduate of Kalamazoo Christian, he went on to graduate from Calvin College and earn his master's in accounting from W.M.U. He pursued graduate studies at Boston University. Returning to Kalamazoo, he was an accountant with Edger Financial. Jack helped raise Amy and Ben, the children of his first wife, Alice Leatherman, and he thought of them as his own. In 2003, Jack married Kay Eddy. They enjoyed traveling, biking and winters in Jupiter, Florida until Kay's death earlier this year. He was a caring stepfather to Kay's children and a loving uncle. A truly devoted son, Jack planned and hosted a beautiful 100th birthday celebration for his mother two years ago. A deep thinker, he was a spiritual, sensitive man. Family and friends will remember Jack DeMaagd with love. Jack was preceded in death by his brother, James DeMaagd; his father, Clarence DeMaagd and his wife, Kay.
