Age 93, passed away at home on Friday, December 21, 2018. Jack was born on August 23, 1925, the only child of the late Peter and Bernadine (Rolfe) Dalm. He was raised in a home on the East side of Kalamazoo and would remain a lifetime resident of the area. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central and was then drafted into the U.S. Navy. Jack served in the Philippines during World War II until being honorably discharged. After returning home he began working for Consumers Power. Jack was a hard worker and retired after more than thirty years. When not working he enjoyed golf, bowling and hunting. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and held a high interest for Landing Craft Support ships. Jack had a kind and gentle heart and his love could be seen in the way he cared for his special-needs son, then later in life his mother and wife. Jack also loved his pet dogs. Jack will be missed by his family and all those who loved him. On June 20, 1947, he married the love of his life, Mildred L. (Kyes) Dalm who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Jackie Daugherty and Jerrie (David Wheeler) Dalm; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by his son, Rick Dalm who died on September 20, 2010 and his son-in-law, James Daugherty. In accordance with his wish, cremation will take place and he will be laid to rest at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date.
