Jack Alan Goodrich went to his heavenly home on Thursday evening, January 11th, 2024, at the age of 85. Jack was born on January 27, 1938, in Kalamazoo MI, the son of Leo and Margaret (Wolfert) Goodrich. He graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. On September 17, 1965, Jack was united in marriage to his loving wife of 58 years, Madelyn (Paul) who survives. Jack was a faithful member of Faith CRC and Texas Corners Bible Church. He had served as an Elder and Deacon, along with singing and youth leadership. Jack was employed at Modern Neon Sign Company for several years followed by Kitchen's by Scholten as an installer. He could also be found every weekend at the Kalamazoo Speedway where he would sing the National Anthem and offer the prayer of invocation. Kalamazoo Speedway later became his retirement job where he enjoyed watching the races along with performing the many jobs he did to keep the track running smoothly. Many would reference Jack as the "Jack of All Trades" as he was able to fix anything as a crafty handyman and was always willing to help those around him. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail, which was evident in his immaculate yard. He spent many hours restoring and painting cars in his garage and had a fanatical love for them – especially ones with Ford emblem. Jack also enjoyed his grandchildren's sporting events and being outdoors. He was kindhearted, always smiling and liked a practical joke. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed time spent with family. More than anything, Jack had a deeper love for God and a strong faith which was evident throughout his whole life. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. "Well done good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23. Also surviving are his children, Vicky (Tim) Gernaat – Kylie and Kennedy Gernaat; Todd (Rebekah) Goodrich – Jacob and Travis Goodrich; Doug Goodrich – Alison and Brody Goodrich; his brother, Wesley Goodrich; sister-in-law, Donna (Ron) Goodrich; and nieces, Pam (Mark) Visser and Jody Polet. Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Marva Goodrich, and brothers, Ron and Wayne Goodrich. A private family graveside service will be held at Mount Ever Rest Memorial Park. A memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Texas Corners Bible Church.
