Irwin Dale Atman, age 77, of Holland, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Irwin was a veteran who served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and attended Central Wesleyan Church. He was a business entrepreneur and a carpenter in Holland and Ludington for many years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and mentor. He had a daughter Brenda that preceded him in death
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children, Jodie and Ron Salas of Kalamazoo, Todd and Jennie Atman of Fennville, Michelle August of Holland, Curtis Vandyke of Holland, Jodi Talsma of West Olive; 3 special grandchildren, Brittney, Zachary and Aspyn; sister, Judi Atman of Holland; brothers and sisters in law, Delwin and Joan Huyser of Holland, Sharon Nykamp of Ada; several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland. Dr. Paul S. Hontz will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 12-1 p.m. at Lakeshore Memorial Services. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland or the Harbor Humane Society of Ottawa County.
