Hermine Joftscheff

Hermine "Nina" Joftscheff went to heaven March 23, 2026 to be greeted by her loved ones. She was born the March 5, 1930 in Burgass, Bulgaria. She was married March 8, 1950 in Altenkunstadt, Germany to Slawi Joftscheff. Slawi arrived in Oklahoma in late1950 and Nina arrived the following year. They moved to Kalamazoo in 1954. She worked as a seamstress and embroiderer at Jolly Kids, Ihling Brothers, and Kalamazoo Regalia. She loved to knit, crochet, and cross stitch. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johann and Veronica (Chorio) Herbert, her husband, Slawi, and three of her children: Veronica, Maria, and Johanna. She is survived by her children Hertha (Donald) Klimp, Karl Heinz, and Josef (Cindy) Joftscheff; grandchildren Donny, Judy, Jamie, Diana, Danielle, Gabriel, Trevor, and Jazmine; dear friend Kyle Tiller; great grandchildren Marissa, Brandon, Cody, Joey, Jessica, Chasity, Jestine, Shelby, Tascha, Ryan, Chris, Brin, Gavin, Hermine, Temperance, and Lachlan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo. A committal service will follow at 11:30 AM. Father Bryce Buffnbarger will be holding the graveside service at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nina may be made to Centrica Care Navigators.
