Tuinstra, Henry Roger Kalamazoo Passed away Monday September 5, 2022 at his home. Roger was born February 14, 1938 in Kalamazoo the son of Fred and Jennie (Tichelaar) Tuinstra. He was a veteran serving aboard the Intrepid in the U.S. Navy. For over two decades, he was employed by Eaton, and he also worked as a part-time police officer for the City of Parchment. A graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School, Roger was an ardent University of Michigan sports fan as well as a devoted animal lover. He was a member of Haven Reformed Church and later Disciples of Christ in Kalamazoo. On October 23, 1959 he was united in marriage to his loving wife Marilyn (DeBruyn) who preceded him in death on June 7, 1991. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Edythe Rockhold; and brother, Darwin Tuinstra. He is survived by his sons, Troy Tuinstra of Kalamazoo, Mark Tuinstra of Brooklyn, New York; grand-daughter, Jennifer Tuinstra of Waterford; sister, Pamela (David) Bradley of Plainwell; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may meet the family from 5:00-7:00pm Sunday, September 11 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 622 South Burdick, Kalamazoo, MI 49007 where funeral services will be held Monday, September 12 at 11:00am.
