Henrietta Everts

Henrietta Everts, age 99, went home to be with her Lord on December 11, 2019. Henrietta was born January 18, 1920 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Peter and Hattie (Esman) Everts. She was a lifelong Portage resident and member of the First Reformed Church of Portage, where she had been involved with many of the church's organizations and committees throughout the years. Henrietta was employed with J. C. Penney Company for over 40 years prior to her retirement.

Surviving are her brother John Everts; nieces and nephews: Joanne (Larry) Woodward, Patricia (Bob) Zilinski, Margery Boerman, John P. Everts, Jeff (Pam) Everts, Jim (Carolyn) Everts, Joel Everts (Suzanne Cole); and many great nieces and nephews. Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Annette Everts, Ann and John De Kam; a sister-in-law Joan Everts.

The Funeral Service will be held 11:00am Saturday, December 14th at First Reformed Church of Portage (7905 S. Westnedge Ave.) Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. A private burial will take place in Portage Central Cemetery. Memorials in Henrietta's memory may be directed to First Reformed Church of Portage or Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
