Helmer Larson

Larson, Helmer E. Kalamazoo Helmer E. Larson, age 86, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022. He was born in Kalamazoo, MI on July 22, 1936, to the late Vernon and Helen (Blank) Larson. Helmer was a retired Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Kalamazoo. He married Barbara I. Patnode on April 10, 1959, and together they shared 63 years of marriage. Helmer enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, cooking, and most of allhis family. He and Barbara enjoyed being snow birds and traveling to Largo, FL for the winters. Surviving Helmer are his loving wife, Barbara; daughter, Cynthia (Robert) Moon; grandchildren, Tamara Horobik, Jeffrey Klok, Kelsey Klok; great grandchildren, Trevor Horobik, Annalynn Horobik, and Shawn Horobik. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Howard Larson and Harold Larson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 3926 S. 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009 at 1:00 pm. The family will greet friends from 12:00 pm until time of service at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place at Mount Ever Rest Memorial Park South.
