Myland, Helen Louise Helen Louise Myland of Kalamazoo, Michigan went to be with her Lord and Savior early Thursday morning, December 8, 2022. She was born on June 13, 1930 in Pleasant County, West Virginia to Cloyd and Mamie Wells. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Frederick Myland and three siblings, Bernard Wells, Naomi Juk, and Lola Wells. She is survived by her sister Betty Barnhart and Dean Wells. Louise was married to Frederick Myland on April 18, 1957. She will be greatly missed and remembered by her two sons, Frederick Martin and Thomas Edward Myland, Tom's wife Laurie, and five grandchildren, Gregory and Caroline (Hall) Kyes-Myland, Gretchen Kyes-Myland, Brittany Myland and finance Mathew Crooks, Garrett and Rachel (Robbert) Myland, Lauren Louise (Myland) and Keith Adams, extended grandchildren, Lisa Tuinstra, David and Jennifer (Hyde) Tuinstra, and four great grandchildren, as well as cherished nieces and nephews. Louise graduated from New Cumberland High School in 1947 and moved to Kalamazoo in 1954 where she met and fell in love with Frederick Myland. Louise was a member of Third Christian Reformed Church where she developed lifelong friendships with many of the attending members. Louise enjoyed raising her children, spending time with her grandchildren, reading, needle work, antiquing with her sister Naomi and entertaining friends. Louise enjoyed traveling with Fred and cherished the memories they created at their family cottage in South Haven. Louise was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and whit that brightened the lives that she touched. Friends may meet the family Tuesday, December 13 from 11:00-1:00 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Louise's life to follow at 1:00 p.m., along with a luncheon to follow at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 14 at 11:00 a.m. (meet in assembly area at 10:45). In Lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to the Kalamazoo Christian schools, Youth for Christ, or Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
